Getting started
- Study browses the material by topic, drawn from the official Discover Canada guide.
- Practice and Mock Exam let you test yourself. The mock mirrors the real format: 20 questions, about 30 minutes, 15 of 20 (75%) to pass.
- Progress tracks how ready you are and which areas need work.
- Pick your province so the province-specific questions (capital, premier, lieutenant governor, local representative) match where you live, which the real test asks about.
- Large text (Dynamic Type) and VoiceOver are supported throughout, for studying on the go.
Is this official? Is it accurate?
True North is an independent study aid, not affiliated with the Government of Canada or IRCC, and it is not legal or immigration advice.
- Accuracy is the whole point. Every question is grounded in the official Discover Canada guide. The real test scores to that guide, so our answers stay faithful to it, even in the few places where the guide is now out of date. There we add a short editor’s note explaining what has changed in the real world, for example court names or trade-deal names, without changing the answer the test expects.
- Every answer names its source in the guide on screen. The volatile facts (the monarch, premiers, lieutenant governors, court names) are re-verified before every release.
Free and Pro
True North is complete for free: the full question bank, categorised study, a key-dates cram sheet, a core Who’s Who reference, a mock exam every day, and flashcards. You can prepare and pass without paying.
Pro is a single one-time purchase, with no subscription and no ads ever, that adds the confidence layer:
- Unlimited timed mock exams (free gets one a day)
- Spaced-repetition weak-area drilling
- A readiness score
- Province-specific packs and current office-holders
- The full Key Dates timeline and the complete Who’s Who
Buying and restoring Pro
- To unlock Pro: tap any Pro feature, or the upgrade prompt, then complete the purchase through the App Store.
- To restore on a new device or after reinstalling: use Restore Purchase in the unlock sheet or in Settings. Pro is tied to your Apple ID, so it restores on any device you sign in to.
- Purchase problems and refunds:purchases are processed by Apple. For billing or refund requests, use Apple’s Report a Problem. We are happy to help troubleshoot the unlock itself.
Common questions
Does it need the internet?
No. Everything works offline: the question bank is on your device.
Does it collect my data?
No. See our Privacy Policy. The app collects nothing and has no accounts.
Which test does it cover?
The Canadiancitizenship knowledge test, for applicants aged 18 to 54. It is a practice pool covering all of the guide’s content, not a copy of the confidential real exam.
Where do the official materials live?
We link the government’s own resources from within the app, and we encourage you to read the official guide too: Discover Canada, the official study guide, The citizenship test on canada.ca.
